Transaction and Network Fees drive 2nd quarter revenues to record levels


VANCOUVER, BC – April 19, 2005 – PhotoChannel Networks Inc. (TSX-V: PNI and OTCBB: PHCHF) (“PhotoChannel” or “Company”), the global leader in digital imaging network technology, with over 8,000 photo retail locations worldwide, provides a 2nd quarter fiscal 2005 update:

PhotoChannel Network Usage

During what is historically the slowest photofinishing quarter of the year, ended March 31, 2005, PhotoChannel has again posted record revenues, exceeding its previous record from last quarter and more than doubled its revenue from the comparable period of 2004.

“The use of the PhotoChannel platform by its retailer and wireless carrier customers continued the growth patterns seen during the last 12 months,” stated Peter Fitzgerald, President and CEO of PhotoChannel. “We are extremely pleased by our retailers’ continued commitment to offering their customers an online to in-store photo printing solution. Customers such as Black Photo have completed their national rollout, while others such as Wal-Mart Canada now offer this in-store solution at more than half of their stores and is adding new locations on a weekly basis.”

“The Company’s recurring revenue streams are driving our current record revenues,” stated Robert Chisholm, CFO of PhotoChannel. “We expect to maintain this growth throughout 2005, due to the increases we are seeing in transactions, prepaid cards and wireless activity.”

Customer Highlights

Previously reported on January 11, 2005, all of the new customers’ websites have been launched, are now live and generating revenues.

PhotoChannel’s has expanded its email marketing service and has sent over one million outbound marketing emails so far in fiscal 2005 compared with 140,000 during the same period last year. This revenue generating service has experienced significant buy-in from both retailers and consumers, as the results from these campaigns have been seen literally in minutes.
